The 1163 double sided from 3M is a high quality adhesive too, we haven't scrimped on quality with this product and any others that we supply. The 1163 will bond to most surfaces but not necessarily all surfaces, if the 1163 fails (out of 100's it has not worked for 2 people) then you may need to use a VHB (Very High Bond) tape instead. Do not remove protective face covering or expose double sided on the rear unless you are happy to install it and keep it. Offer it up into place and decide if you are happy before doing that. Glass mirrors do not bend so they either do not touch all the surface and distort or they would just break, acrylic does bend so an uneven surface = possible distortion. 5mm less likely to distort than 3mm. - As good as glass but safer as it will not shatter and is a lot harder to break than glass. Not as rigid as glass which is so rigid it cannot distort, glass mirrors would shatter before they distorted although even some glass mirrors are not perfect, if you have an uneven surface then really glass is the only way, if you have a very flat surface, want light weight and safety then acrylic is the only way. 5mm acrylic is less likely to distort than 3mm. - Plaskolite brand, easily identifiable by it's grey Fabback protective coating on the rear. This particular listing gives you double sided covering the full rear so you just peel off backing sheet to expose and place into position. I put two of them onto the inside of the wardrobe doors, the surface was not sufficiently flat, the tape did not hold and so one or the other of them kept falling off. They are ordinary wooden painted interior doors with a surface wood-grain finish. I added some 3M thicker and stronger adhesive tape and now they stay put but they are not flat and the reflection is very distorted. I plan to replace them with glass mirrors.
