(for calculating remaining filament)** A: Don't know, and it might not matter anyway since manufacturers can use different spool designs and materials on different lots. What I do is measure the weight of each full spool before printing and tag it with a sticker showing the weight. Rough guideline, solid plastic spools tend to be between 200 and 240g, skeletonized and cardboard tend to be between 125 and 175g (based on full weight assuming 1kg of filament). I've also noticed most manufacturers go heavy on their filament, with up to 50g over the 1k spec. A few manufacturers, like PolyMaker, have started to put an approximate spool weight directly on the spools. But this is just approximate. My measurements would indicate that the spool is actually heavier, or there's about 15g of extra filament on the one I currently have open. Hopefully we'll see more manufacturers give us at least the rough spool weight in the future. **Q: Will it hold a 2kg spool?** A: No it’s made of the standard 1kg. 2kg are 50% taller and wider.
