The space between the backpack and your back allows for good ventilation and helps keep your back from getting sweaty. The padding is sufficient and the materials are high - what you would expect from Osprey. Having the rain cover in it's own zippered pouch is a nice touch. As others have mentioned, the only thing that I could suggest is to have at least one more zipper pocket to keep things organized.
