This tea warmer is perfect. The fondue pot fits snugly into it as if they were made for each other...and the heat source is a simple tea light available at any grocery or candle/craft store....well made stainless and sturdy. I would NOT recommend a flat bottomed pot for this- unless the bottom of your pot has a convex center no larger than 4 inches in diameter so that the bottom of the pot fits snuggly into the slight depressed area around the center opening (see pix). Turn your pot/carafe upside down and see if there's an elevated area in the middle (the pot is not completely flat)...if it's round & four inches in diameter or less, the pot will fit. The top of the candle sits about 1 and 1/2"- 3/4" from the bottom of the your pot. These measurements should have been noted to save folk without pots of a certain shape from wasting their money.
