A: Thanks for your question!  The diameter of the string is approximately 0.060 inches or 1.52mm.  The tensile strength is 170 lbs.

**Q: does this stretch under wet or warm conditions?**
A: We lost our house in Hurricane Ian and purchased this to replace the previous one. When we have a house and are able to do laundry we will let you know. We purchased this because we will need in the future and know that the price will be higher because of the Biden inflation.
