The photochromic option is similar to the Transition one (also on my previous pair of glasses). I could not be happier and therefore can highly recommend them. I didn't want to rush my review and give them a legitimate test. Considering what I paid for the frames, these glasses are the best in my 50+ years of wearing glasses. I was concerned that may not take abuse well but have been pleasantly surprised. I searched multiple eyeglass establishments and was shocked of the prices they were charging for rimless frames; many over $300.
