I wanted to put it on a hot radiator filled with water to try and add some moisture back into the air because my eyes hurt it's so dry in my room. I thought about trying to block the holes with epoxy or something but i ended up just throwing away the pots and just putting water in the tray. I wish they had taken the time to write a more detailed description of the item and let people know the pots do have drainage holes. It will work great except for the knives which, when placed handle up--which I consider the only option for all silverware because of sanitary concerns, upset their bucket.
