I have the mimi spreader made by Scott's it fine if you have a very small yard, my yard is only about 5000 sq ft but I found the smaller spreader harder to handle it is more tippy and shorter the the deluxe model making it harder to manage. This one the deluxe model is like night and day easily managed more stable and easier to push. No matter how big or small your yard is I would recommend buying the bigger spreader. Spend the extra money up front and be done.

**Q: How is the spread when used for salt in the winter? Does it have a good spread or does it just trickle to the floor with very little spread.**
A: I bought this 5 years ago and only use for salt in the winter, the metal frame finally gave out in the beginning of the 6th winter. Spreads salt fine as long as the wheels turn. Not great for built up ice pack on driveway. Works great for normal use at home.

**Q: Does it say where this spreader is made?**
A: The spreader is made in California.

**Q: would it work well for powdered lime?**
A: I have been using the Scott's  classic drop
spreader for 6 years and it works great for powered lime on setting #14

**Q: Will this work for snow salt too?**
A: It should but salt would probably have to be applied before it snows. It might be difficult to roll in more than a small covering of snow. Why don't you call Scotts (888) 270-3714?

Excellent lawn spreader well worth the money Scott's make great products. I have the mimi spreader made by Scott's it fine if you have a very small yard, my yard is only about 5000 sq ft but I found the smaller spreader harder to handle it is more tippy and shorter the the deluxe model making it harder to manage. This one the deluxe model is like night and day easily managed more stable and easier to push. No matter how big or small your yard is I would recommend buying the bigger spreader. Spend the extra money up front and be done.

Spreader is well made. There are things that can be improved. The handle is too short. I'm 6 feet tall and I have to bend to use it. My yard is about 1/4 of an acre and by back hurts after I use it. The wheels are hollow in the inside, under the section that spread the treatment and they tend to collect it, specially when you use it in the morning as it is recommended as the grass is wet from the dew, to help adhesion of the granules to the weed.
