I connected it to the TV while it was off thinking it was charging but it wasn't. you will know it's charging if the blue lights on the device are on. Connected my firestick and it was awful...slow laggy and there was a white line showing on TV near the bottom. I initially thought the old TV I had it connected to was finally giving out. Tried putting it on other tvs and still the same results not realizing it didn't pre charge correctly and that white line still on bottom of screen on all tvs I tried (2 other tvs) At this point I put it back on the TV I intended to use it for and just left it on.
