I put it in 3 different locations in the tank. I tried 3 different depths. During testing the float never turned the pump on. However if I pressed on the bladder with my little finger, it would activate the pump. Piece-of-junk ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Little Giant Diaphragm Swirtch *by W***E on May 11, 2010* I used this to replace a pendent float switch that was unreliable due to space limitations in my sump. Little Giant products are very high quality and this one is no exception. Before installing, I tested it in the sink and it was very accurate. Supplied hardware makes it easy to install. However, this particular switch trips at 10" which is a little deep and caused me to have to position it near the bottom of the sump. To get it that low, I had to make a special bracket out of PVC pipe. The 20' cord may be needed for some applications, but it's pretty long too. Anyway, the thing works perfectly, and the price and delivery were great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems good so far. *by B***E on May 13, 2014* Easy to install and works fine. The power cord is way too long--but better too long than too short. Quality seems good.
