This ICY BOX is connected via USB 3.0 or eSATA to the computer, and thanks to JBOD function - only one USB port will be occupied on the computer, but all HDDs will be recognized as separate drives. So that it doesn't get to hot with transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s, the built-in 6 cm fan supplies the hard disks with a fresh breeze. Review: Great Hardware, but Bad interface - I've had this product for over a year now so have had chance to give it a thorough test. Build quality, it's second to none, really well made piece of hardware. The interface is pretty abysmal in that regardless of the HDDs inside it, or the PC or Mac its connected to, it causes juddering for other I/O devices. I've also had hugely varying speeds with it only once getting anywhere near the USB3.0 desired speed. Most of the time it runs at a dismal 150mb/s-250mb/s, which considering it runs Acronis True Image backing up 12Tb of data daily....you can see why I run it weekly now, and have had to change the size of the backups. The product looks great, but is let down by it's poor interface. Review: Value your data? - If you value your data don't use this item.
