I tried them and they taste just like a snack bar, with more protein then most. Longer shelf life and actually cheaper then what you might get in stores. I've put them in my emergency bag in the car and packed them in my hiking bag. I would consider this not just an emergency type food but a nice snack/energy bar with long shelf life.
