For the torso, it has sherling fleece while the arms just have basic synthetic insulation. So overall, the coat has two layers of impressive insulation. The jacket looks GOOD. Has the classic Canadian/PNW tuxedo look. The zippers also zip up and down smoothly. You don't really appreciate zippers until you had a jacket with a bad zipper, and fortunately this jacket has a good zipper. Cons: I wish the collars also had the sherling fleece.
