It does make a slight buzz while heating up which stops when it comes to temperature, but that's all it is, a slight buzz. Not a detraction at all. I do recommend this product.

This is a terrific little griddle. Perfect size for my countertop. Heats up very quickly, and temperature adjustment knob gives me the correct heat no matter what I'm making.
