However these do have lips on the front and back and do fit comfortably with no issues. They are by far my favorite sandals. It seems they mimic the Birkenstocks after the cork footbed is broken in. They are comfortable out of the box and look great. I received the size 7-7.5 today and they fit perfect so they seem to be sized large and might want to try one size down.
