Review: One piece design is secure and easy to install - Solid construction with no separate parts to assemble. Large lag bolts and expansion screws included. Nice, thick handle is easy to grab and the ball end provides a very secure first "grab." I used a 3/16" drill bit to provide pilot holes into a 4x4 redwood post and a M12 metric socket wrench to drive the bolts. A 1/4" pilot hole would probably be OK as well but the bolts were strong enough to not shear off going through the smaller hole. The final installation is very secure and looks great. Two things to note: (1) Both the bolts and expansion screws are listed as being M8 but that refers to the width of the shafts, not the heads. The bolt requires a M12 wrench and the expansion screws need a M14. And (2), a bit of the black coating on the bolt heads came off during assembly so I don't know if that would create a rust opportunity. To prevent that possibility, I touched up the heads with some flat black paint. Overall, an attractive and very functional handrail at a great price.
