Joining a board to another board on the same plane, not perpendicular?** A: yes... many times. clamp the boards or step on them so they dont shift planes. plan to sand **Q: Which case works best for the 560?** A: Do you mean for storage/transportation? If that is the question, Ridgids mid size Pro stacking tool box, Milwaukees midsize, Dewalts tough system etc will all have plenty of room for the jig along with a lot screws, spare drive bits, blocks for supporting longer work pieces, you get the idea. I am sure you could find a more compact Pelican (or knockoff) case it would fit into. I personally just keep mind attached to a wood base that has some extensions that are flush with the part of the jig your material rests on and use it to screw to a table, or the best thing I've ever used is one of the 3 leg clamping "Jawhorse" style stand. You just have to be careful that the depth collar on the drill bit doesn't come loose. Mine did and I went a little deeper than I needed to until I noticed it. Other than that, it works really well. I mounted mine on a plywood tray.
