The pieces are quite short and nice and soft, so great for my chicken's nesting boxes. Also using this as a layer over hemp bedding on the henhouse floor (the hemp is more absorbent but not so comfortable). So far the hens seem to be enjoying it. The bag has been packed very tight - there's enough here for my 12-hen house for a good few months, making this excellent value for money.
