The only time you might notice slow down would be if you were downloading on multiple devices (i.e. downloading games on a console while downloading on your PC's), as it would attempt to use the entire bandwidth on all the devices. Normal use including online gaming and watching TV streaming services will not come close to utilising your 500mbps bandwidth.
