Review: You have to be Creative! - Recently, I was diagnosed with prediabetes. So I took everything sugary out of my diet, and I lost 25lbs in 6 weeks. I missed my sugary snacks and drinks so bad. Half of the sugar free options available taste horrible! So I got creative, and I hope you do too! This is worth it, if you are wishing for a boba TYPE drink. This is NOT boba, this is made with different ingredients so expect it to be different. The instructions don't tell you you CAN microwave your boba. I did 15 seconds and it came out great. With regular boba, I would always put my sugary pearls at the bottom of my cup, but for these I suggest laying them on top of your ice, because when they're ice cold, they have a nice bounce/chew to them. I drizzled sugar free caramel around my cup. I also drizzled about a teaspoon of the "milk tea" syrup. (I read in a review that the instructions came out too sweet to drink, and it's true) I added unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it came out great. Not perfect , but good enough to satisfy. I do prefer my pearls to be sugary though, and with my body not allowing it, I'm going to try to experiment and soak the pearls in a sugar free vanilla syrup ( the one i use for my coffee) to see if some of it might soak into the pearls. This also goes great with iced coffee! Remember it's definitely not the same, but if it's your only choice, make it GOOD!

Standard black milk tea has no business tasting this much like licorice. 2. Sweetness: I get that stevia is sweeter than sugar, I /get it./ But that's why recipes adjust levels of sweetness, Jan. Adding stevia in the same quantities as sugar means that the sweetness of one serving has the same combined sweetness of all of the Halloween candy you have ever eaten in your entire life. It feels like it can drill a hole directly into your tooth from sweetness. Nothing has any business being this sweet. Eating pure sugar is not this sweet. 3. Tapioca pearls: okay, this one was just mildly disappointing, but added to everything else was the rotten cherry on top of the moldy cake. These were not chewy, but more like the splitting texture of something with too much gelatin in it. Between the size, shape, and texture, I felt like I was eating frog spawn.

Recently, I was diagnosed with prediabetes. So I took everything sugary out of my diet, and I lost 25lbs in 6 weeks. I missed my sugary snacks and drinks so bad. Half of the sugar free options available taste horrible! So I got creative, and I hope you do too! This is worth it, if you are wishing for a boba TYPE drink. This is NOT boba, this is made with different ingredients so expect it to be different. The instructions don't tell you you CAN microwave your boba. I did 15 seconds and it came out great. With regular boba, I would always put my sugary pearls at the bottom of my cup, but for these I suggest laying them on top of your ice, because when they're ice cold, they have a nice bounce/chew to them. The tea though everyone has already mentioned it is a bit sweet, but just add to taste and it's all good. The boba on the other hand, DO NOT BUY THIS AND EXPECT THE TEXTURE OF TAPIOCA PEARLS. You will be so disappointed. The texture is really not good.
