    Brilliant!

Wow. These are amazing. Just received them. No offense meant at all but I suspect the negative reviews are from people who do not use crutches for permanent disability or have only ever used NHS crutches and Fischer sticks.I kept an open mind as my crutch fell off the back of my powerchair while outside... because it was night time and I was alone there was nobody around to pick it up and so I was left with an odd one. (By the time I went back with someone I think the scrap man had it). I need them for getting out of my chair and moving from seat to seat etc. I wanted something nicer looking than silver dole poles as my friends call them. Please bear in mind the following:1. No crutches are meant for long walks. These have very soft grips compared to any crutches I've purchased. They are perfect. If you are walking round all day you will get blisters and hand cramps from any type.2. If you use these crutches "correctly" they are perfectly ergonomic and the open cuff is not a problem. By correctly I mean the way an occupational therapist would show you how to use them. I used to use mine wrong until I was shown as the first time I had them was in A&E and they dont show you. Because I have a disability and physio they show you how to walk with the swing of the crutch and for this these are perfect. You shouldn't be slipping because that means you are putting all your weight on the crutches and swinging like an acrobat. You should set your crutches on the floor as you step onto the weaker foot/leg and they absorb some of the shock. If you cannot do that maybe a wheelchair would be more suitable.3. The cuffs are open but do provide support if you follow what I mentioned above. The only time I have found closed cuff even remotely useful is for hanging a crutch off my arm and in which case I probably should have been using a stick because they're not meant for that. They provide exactly the same structural support as closed cuff... who is leaning forward on crutches anyway? The mind boggles.4. They have various size settings if you look hard enough. At first it looks like there are only 2. It's because the holes are concealed within the crutch. You have to pull off the black plastic tab which holds a metal rod in place. People have said they found pushing the metal pin too difficult. That's because you arent meant to push the metal pin. The metal pin is actually a rod which is removed by taking the plastic piece off. Once you have done that all will become apparent. I find this easier than any other crutch size mechanism I've ever used. It also looks better on the paintwork as it isn't full of holes.Sorry if any of that seems rude. I would hate for people to be put off buying what is essentially a great, inexpensive product that could really help people. As for aesthetics. I love them. The paint is nice and pretty. The black plastic is so nice and sleek. I want some in every colour! I feel like because I have to use them all the time I want something nice and these are fashionable and stylish without being in your face. The plastic is not sharp. If it was I would sand it down but it really isn't a problem at all and I have THICK arms. The ferrule is nice and soft and very grippy. It doesnt click on hard floors. In fact the whole units don't make any noise at all which is perfect as my NHS ones rattled and some cheaper ones did the same like they were loose.10/10 would purchase again. In fact I would go as far as to say these are my favourite Amazon purchase to date!

    Stylish and functional.

I suffer from three chronic conditions, M.E and fibromyalgia, which cause all over body pain and inflamatiom aswell as nerve pain. Endometriosis which causes leg pain. I also have issues with the discs in my back and nerve problems from there. On top if these my achilles tendons are now playing up.Some days with all this combined i cant stand by myself and im constantly limping, where its my tendons causing severe pain, sciatica or general muscle and joint pain.Because my conditions arent outwardly visible its hard as people can be very negative and assume im healthy. So through embarrassment and trying to avoid judgement ive struggled along without any aids.I finally had to bite the bullet and admit defeat as i have a couple of outings for family and i cant stand on my own some days.I needed something to take some weight off abd stop me toppling over. These are a great compromise on traditional crutches because theyre coloured. They match my hair and i dont feel as conspicuous with them.If i have to use a crutch..... at least its a cool one lol.Theyre very comfy on the arm. Easier to put down that pulling your arm out of a round grip thingy. Although they dont hang off the arm. They are ridiculously light, makes things alot easier. No annoying clicky sound as you walk.I had to use these around an Abbey on grass and some uneven ground. They didnt fall me once. The tip is great for a solid planting.I thought the handle might rub. But after 2 hours my hand is blister free.I will still get covers though. The colour is lovely. I got purple.Height adjustment is at good intervals so i got a good height.Definitely recommended these.

I bought these crutches, for my 2 month recovery from foot surgery and I am so glad I did. Initially I bought them (out of vanity) to match my work clothes for when I got back to the office. These crutches are lightweight and the cuff fits around my arm well. The open cuff was easy to adapt to from closed cuff - just remember not to reach of things expecting them to follow- they won't and you shouldn't expect them to! However I love the handiness of the open cuff - they are so quick to 'put on'. They are easily adjusted according to height and have 10 different heights to choose from. (I am almost 5'7" and I am comfortable on the 8th hole). They have good grip in the handles with the white spot being rubber so your hands don't slide however I use fleecy crutch handle covers anyway to reduce ache of the constant weight pressure on my hands. They also have good grip on the floor - they haven't slid on tiles, vinyl, wood or outdoors on wet pavements. I'm unaware if you can replace the 'feet' if they wear down over time - a long-term user could answer that for you. Finally they also fit the purpose I originally got them for - they do match all of my outfits well, much nicer than the grey standard ones! I feel confident and safe using them. They arrived on time and there were no mistakes in the order.
