After shouting into my laptop's inbuilt microphone for half an hour, to no avail, I found out that it doesn't have one. Panic set in, as the meeting was two days away, so not wanting to spend much money I ordered these. They arrived the next day, set up really easily and did the job during the Zoom meeting! I doubt they are 'state of the art' but they were more than sufficient for what I needed them for and pleased to say, all the other people could hear me.
