For me is best not to try to pull my hair and it does help me untangle my hair. As far as smelling this product is awesome makes me feel like I've been washing my hair with a very expensive shampoo but it leaves my hair soft manageable and the quality of the product is to look for. The color of the product will not affect the color of your hair however it does help out to again untangle all your hair without have to pull your hair out when you try to comb it out.
