It would either crack or buckle. Or heat would of melted the insulation (wires). Not something that I would buy again. I ordered 2. One of them had a bad switch, so I had to get a new plug. I hardwired one of them in the back of my vehicle. The wire can be a little boy of a pain to deal with, but it is worth it with the money you are saving. I wish you had the option to remove the flashback shield. I just cut it off, which worked fine. Would definitely not hesitate to buy more. It is a real traffic mover, and a great warning for the rear.
