Ordered these poles for a trip to the lower Atlas Mountains in Morocco. They were wonderfully easy to pack in our luggage and small backpacks. They were easy to open and were much sturdier than we thought they would be. We were each able to use one to both go up and down the rocky and somewhat steep terrain (for older people) and kept us steady and allowed us to really enjoy the journey and experience. Highly recommend.
