Review: Excellent germination, great plants - I planted a batch last fall, and another this spring. Both times, it seemed like about 100% germination, fast. The kale is tall, leafy, excellent and delicious. With light cover, it survived a pretty bad storm (for Central Texas)--temps into the teens. It's a lot of good seeds for a good price.
Review: It's Still Kale - Germinated well. If you like kale, tastes great. If you hate kale, you'll still hate these.

## Features

- Compact & Ornamental Heirloom : Introduced in 1950 from the VATES breeding program; produces low-growing dwarf plants (12–16 inches tall) with tightly curled, crinkled blue-green leaves and a decorative, ruffled appearance.
- Outstanding Cold Tolerance : Extremely hardy, survives harsh winters (zone 5+) and snow cover; flavor sweetens after frost, resists bolting, ideal for fall/winter/early spring growing.
- Tender Texture & Mild Flavor : Mildly sweet, nutty taste with low bitterness; tender, finely ruffled leaves stay soft when mature—great raw in salads, smoothies, or as crispy kale chips.
- Nutritional Powerhouse : High in vitamins A, C, K, plus calcium, iron, potassium, fiber, and antioxidants; supports immunity, bone health, and eye protection with easy-to-digest tender leaves.
- Quality: All kale seeds packaged by Seed Needs are intended for the current and the following growing seasons. All seeds are stored in a temperature controlled facility that is free of significant amounts of moisture.
- Quantity: Seed Needs offers generous quantities. You can share with friends and family, or you can save the extra seeds until the following season, if properly stored.
- Packets: Each seed packet displays an artful illustration of the variety to be grown, as well as detailed seed sowing information on the reverse side. They measure 3.5" wide by 5" tall.
- Promise: Seed Needs will never knowingly supply GMO based seed products. The vast majority of our seeds are open pollinated & heirloom, with the exception of a few hybrids.
- Germination: Seed Needs packets contain some of the freshest seed available. Direct from the growers. If sown correctly, you will begin seeing results in only a matter of days.
- Freshness: All kale seeds are packaged in tear resistant and moisture resistant packaging. This keeps the seeds a whole lot fresher than the competitions selection!
