## Description

Looking for a portable and easy to assemble telescope for celestial viewing? Then the AstroMaster LT Series is just for you! The AstroMaster LT Series produces bright, clear images of the Moon and planets. Easily observe the belts and moons of Jupiter and the rings of Saturn with every one of these fine instruments. For breathtaking views of brighter deep space objects like galaxies and nebulae, we recommend the larger aperture and light-gathering ability of the Newtonian Reflector.

Review: Great starter telescope - Very impressed with what you’re able to view with this telescope considering it was around £100 and lots of advice given was to avoid things in this price range and less than 100mm. It’s very portable even with the stand. The stand is light and yes it does wobble but being patient with stability isn’t a problem as it settles down quickly to view what you want to see. The dot finder is probably the most difficult part to set up and please do this during daylight if you’re planning to view anything. Once set up it’s a piece of cake to find anything that you want to look at. Since Christmas Day my son and I have viewed the moon, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. Most impressively is that you can see the rings of Saturn and make out the bands of Jupiter which is amazing. I would highly recommend for a beginner scope.
Review: Makes girls happy - I bought this to expose my girlfriend to astronomy, as she told me recently that she'd never seen the night sky through a telescope before. It had been a while since I had either, so I saw this as an excuse to get my hands on a semi-hefty beginner-level refractor scope. To my pleasant surprise, my favorite planet, Saturn was visible just a few degrees above the darkest part of the horizon, and I was able to find a place where we could view it properly in the back yard the night after receiving this telescope. The look of shock and delight in her face after she saw Saturn's rings was worth every penny. She spent until 2:00AM scanning the stars. Pros: -Easy to set up -Easy to position/holds its position well -The planets and the Moon come through as clear as day (although I'd suggest a better scope with those who have poor eyesight) -Good size for transport Cons: -The red dot scope is cool, but I still can't manage to calibrate it properly, I think this is a personal shortfall though. -For dimmer objects, like nebulas, I'd suggest something a little more heavy-duty. -focussing the scope can be difficult for beginners as it will cause the object to wobble too violently for fine-tuning.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hi,i hve spent a week looking at telescope's. i am not sure what to get. i need something that will show the moon in detail and planets too**
A: I've been an amateur astronomer for many years & have tried all sorts of binoculars & telescopes & made do with a pair of 10x50 prismatic binoc's for most of the time. I made a 2-inch refractor & an equatorial mount but found it very limited. Patrick Moore always recommended a refractor of at least 3-inches object glass for any sort of astronomical work & to shop around for something of this size as there are a lot of awful products on the market that try to make you buy with impressive-sounding magnifications completely beyond the power of the object glass to cope with (no more than x40 magnification per inch of object glass, hence approx.. x120 for a 3-inch). As a beginner don't try to go any bigger than a 3-inch. Celestron are a fairly good manufacturer & their 70mm or 90mm object glass telescopes are likely to be quite satisfactory. A large reflector has some alignment problems & the mirror will need resurfacing from time to time - not really something a sometime amateur will want to deal with, so I would always opt for a refractor.

**Q: Hi. what is the difference between the astromaster 70 az and the 70s az lt**
A: I am so sorry, I don't know the answer to your question, but when I was researching I found that the local Observatory were very happy to speak with me and give me advice. I felt it was helpful as it was professional advice. Hope this helps .

**Q: Does it include the tripod?**
A: Yes Cristina it does include the tripod!Regards Russell

**Q: Why is it £80.00 delivery? Come on!!! 🙄**
A: That may be from a different seller we are £9 for the uk and less fore Ireland for most items when In stock.shat is your country of delivery ?

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad... Not bad at all
*by L***E on 10 July 2017*

Great starter telescope arrived a few days and already been able to see the north star and the moon. Not had any luck with planets but i guess thats with the coverage outside. Only downside is mine came with a different star pointer than the one shown in the images. I am unable to get this star pointer to fit as the mount is not correct and i have contacted amazon who said they are unable to supply or replace the pointer. I was how ever offered a full refund and they can send a new telescope with the correct pointer or get 25% back so i did this and will just use some mounting tape to get the pointer to fit. Overall its a great starter for people who like astronomy. if you want to see Galaxy's and planets with clearer image i would buy a more expensive one.
