Michelle unearths a captivating story of true love and domestic violence. She didn't sugar coat it to make it read like it was beautiful. We saw the pain and the bruises. Yet, we also saw the love that comes with knowing who your true friends are and appreciating what you actually have when what you have is little.While it is rather simple what is happening to Willow throughout the book, it is not till the end that you fully understand the extend of how she has been forced to live her life with an abusive step-father, a mother who just stands by and watched and a 'boyfriend' who blackmails you into being a pretty thing on his arm while he screws with half of the other girls in the school.Brody and Willow's relationship is sweet while maintaining that level of reality and humour; after all, no relationship is perfect. However, if I made one criticism it would be that Brody's character was made to see almost 'too-perfect', if that was even possible. I do feel that this 'too-perfect' character was necessary towards making Willow realise that she didn't have to stand by the crap in her life.stupid things or making reckless decisions I don't understand and making me dislike the main character. YetUsually in books like these I mark them down because the characters end up doing Michelle's writing captivated me so much that I almost felt for Willow even throughout her plot of stupid and reckless decisions. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Thought this was a stand alone? *by B***5 on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 March 2018* It was good, wrapped up a little quickly for my liking and was predictable but good. I find it hard to believe that two friends cared so much but never said Anything?I enjoyed the witty back and forth between the two characters but they seemed to lose that half way through and it became a bit too corny for me.
