The 3018 Pro version is available on the same Amazon page as the 3018-PROVer/PROVer Mach3/MX3, to the immediate left of the rectangular box stating '3018-PROVer/PROVer Mach3/MX3', just left click on the to the left of the rectangular box & the page will update to the '3018 Pro version of this upgrade (same price). That said, you will need to buy a 300W to 500W spindle motor with 52mm body diameter to use this upgrade & discard your existing 42mm motor. You will also require a new separate power supply to suit the new spindle motor along with a PWM speed controller to drive the new motor. I have done the above upgrade for my 3018 Pro with 300W spindle motor upgrade, & now get really good cuts & finishes from my 3018 Pro. I am looking to get this upgrade and I have 10mm stainless steel rods.** A: Hi, I ordered the Genmitsu Aluminium Z Axis Spindle Mount 300-500W Spindle Holder 52mm Diameter for the 3018-Pro, & its' linear bearing diameter is 10mm. In the same Amazon page as the the Prover version, lower down the description you will see selection boxes for either the 3018-Prover & the 3018- Pro versions, so depending on what CNC machine you have, simply select the appropriate box. I do not know what the linear bearing diameters are for the the Prover version, but the 3018 version are 10mm. I hope this helps. **Q: Will it fit a mostics cnc 3018 pro** A: It only fits after the bottom X guide was removed , then moved down in the Z direction by 1mm. Note that the 2 parallel X bars is to hold the Z axis module. (The gap is not wide enough). I originally forced it in.(BIG MISTAKE). I had to re-drill the side support holes for the bottom X axis shaft after filling the original screw hole with glue. The glue hardened and dried, then I drilled. The 1mm increase made the Z axis module travel easily. Measure the gap (exact centre to exact centre before installing). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good *by W***U on 5 November 2025* Good ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Upgrade *by P***S on 18 January 2024* Lovely upgrade , very sturdy being metal ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A very nice upgrade to a CNC3018 engraver/router. *by J***S on 14 November 2025* Short version: This is a very nice upgrade for a generic 3018 CNC engraver/router, albeit at the expense of a little X travel. I assume it's a direct replacement with no drawbacks for a Genmitsu machine, but I don't have one of those so I can't comment. Long version: I bought this because my generic CNC3018 machine's original plastic Z-axis/spindle holder broke in a non-repairable way. This looked like a decent upgrade, so I was happy to pay the money for it (almost as much as I paid for the whole machine). It fit like a champ; and with the included adapter sleeve, it held the motor with no problems. It has two leadscrew nuts, which should all but eliminate backlash, which is nice. And, being made of aluminium, it should now out-last the rest of the machine! As an added bonus, one gets a bit more "Z" travel (54.8mm between limit switches - although once homed, the 1.5mm "backoff" value means that's actually only 53.3mm of useful travel). The limit switches are already installed, which is great. You need a 3-pin JST 2.54mm plug, of which the top 2 pins are connected when either top or bottom limit switch(es) are activated. I also like that the spindle holder can be removed semi-quickly (undo 4 screws, I think it slides out vertically - I've not actually tried it yet); either to put a larger spindle holder in - I plan to make a camera adapter so I can accurately line things up optically with a straight-down vertical view. So that's the good stuff - and on that basis alone I'd suggest it's an excellent upgrade to a plastic spindle holder/Z-axis unit, and well worth considering. There's one minor gripe (and, in fairness, this is a problem with the original machine, not this unit): Due to the way the X-axis leadscrew is attached to the stepper motor, and the location of the stepper motor, you lose about 25mm of X-axis travel at the right-hand edge of the machine. The original mount had a recess which the shaft coupler fit into, whereas this unit does not have that recess. So the leadscrew nut hits the shaft coupler before the head hits the side of the machine. For machines with built-in limit switches, this will require a workaround. Since mine didn't have limit switches from new, I just needed to make a new bracket to move the limit switch I already added to be an inch further in. That done, my machine is back to full working order.
