Review: great for guinea pigs - I bought this for two guinea pigs and it looks like it is going to last forever. My piggies love these, they prefer the mint over the other flavour, but that's just their personal preference. For variety of texture and nutrition, I like to add a little regular rodent mix with this being the main part. this is a big brand for a reason, its a great quality feed. Make sure to include fresh veggies in their diet though because although this is very nutritious, they always need fresh food as well as unlimited hay. :D

## Questions & Answers

**Q: please help I have started using these nuggets as advised bye my vet but they don't seem to be eating them not sure what to do thank you**
A: If they've never eaten these nuggets before you need to introduce a new food gradually as sudden changes in diet can upset their digestive systems. Mix some of the new food in with their old food for a couple of weeks and gradually decrease the old food until they are used to the new one. Their main diet should be hay anyway so make sure they have plenty of that always available, fresh water and fresh vegetables every day (their diet should be 80% hay, 10% veggies, 5% nuggets and 5% healthy treats, e.g. dandelion). Good luck!

**Q: How long does a bag last?**
A: It lasted my 2 guinea pigs about 1.5 months as they also got a lot of hay and vegetables. Something 2 months, specially in the summer when they were in the garden eating grass as well.

**Q: So let’s get this right, you have now gone from a 10kg bag to a 9kg bag, and the price has also increased by about £3?**
A: Yep that’s correct however I would check for other suppliers as Burgess still sell the 10kg to other companies

**Q: can rabbits have these? Im trying to get fibre into ours! (as theyre not over-keen on hay or most 'good for them' rabbit pellets)**
A: No this is only for gunina pigs

Excel items are all very high quality & good base source of nutrition for guineas, not packed with additives or bulking agents that can harm. My eldest guinea died just short of turning 7 having always had this. No selective eating, must be nice tasting as always wanted & keeps digestion regular! Easy to store & good range of sizes. I buy a bulk bag & store in an IKEA fliptop bin.
