I attempted to contact the seller in order to raise this under warranty, and I gave them sufficient time to respond, but my message was ignored. So, quite reasonably I approached Amazon for support - and they couldn't have been LESS helpful! Amazon told me that I had used the product for more than its typical average life - this being despite that average life being quoted in the listing as 30,000 hours (but I'd had it lit for a total of 8,000 hours overall). They also claimed that the warranty period had been exceeded - but this is clearly not so, as having bought the particular lamp in August 2018 (less than 23 months ago), and the warranty is 2 years, I'm comfortably within that period. Nonetheless, Amazon tell me that there is nothing that they can or will do to help.So, whilst they are a really good lamp in terms of illumination and power consumption, consideration should be given as to whether they will last as long as one is led to expect. It has certainly not been my experience that they come anywhere near the quoted lifespan when they fail - this was actually a second lamp of this type to have failed, the first being from a previous order (September 2017) that stopped working in February 2019 though, on that occasion, the manufacturer was much more responsive and provided a FOC replacement without quibbling. It's a pity that that level of customer service has not prevailed now - and extremely disappointing that Amazon have been so very unhelpful.
