Bought an extended warranty on this one after two of the NX2 models one of which is still running well but has a weak battery that I rebuilt a couple of times with spare parts from the first one and new parts I purchased. This model works very well but it is not repairable and had to just dispose of the first one. Hoping the upgrades in the 2023 model out lives the warranty I purschased with it. With that said will never be without one from Pivot. Tried a propeller-driven one which did not work well in our pool. It got stuck all the time. Not enough reverse to clear where it got stuck but fun to run in manual if one wants to watch it all the time….not!!! Glad I purchased the warranty as this one failed in just over a year. Got the motor replacement kit but very difficult to disassemble and once it was together it appeared to have lost its mind. Rear paddles run in opposite directions and the front reverses at times also.... arrrggghhh!

The media could not be loaded.  Update: it has stopped working. Just died. No water in it.This skimmer is so easy to use and keeps our pool so clean. It picks up the floating cotton from the cottonwood trees with no problem, which keeps the skimmers clean and functional. The holding compartment is large holding a lot of trash. It is very quiet, and it doesn’t bang into the sides. It gets to all corners and areas that seem to hold trash that never get to the skimmers. The only downside we have experienced with the unit is that it gets sucked up to the skimmer at the side of the pool when the pump is running. It doesn’t have enough power to pull itself away from the suction going into the skimmer. We have not turned it off or put in standby mode due to the high volume of floating cotton, but I haven’t seen it run out of energy yet. Highly recommend at the end of the day. It’s nice to buy something and it works as advertised. We have had it for a week.

I purchase this product on Sept of 2023. Here is New England we can't run our pools in the winter so I started using this product in May of this year. It worked wonderful, but after one month, first the bottom collection tray started to rust. Then the right side rear paddles stopped working. Then the front main paddle stopped working so I spent $375.00 for this and I didn't even get 3 months out of it. I have been trying to reach the manufacturer but I have had no luck. So I guess the 12 month warranty doesn't apply to this company

I was so excited for this bday gift I bought for myself. I spent several hundred to have this robot skimmer. I put it in my pool and it was working great! Day two, it never turned back on. I contacted the company and they did send me a replacement.The second one, worked great for a little while, but the sensors definitely failing as it was bumping into all the pool walls, which also caused the debris basket to dislodge. Eventually the front paddle also stopped working. Again, the company did send me another replacement.So, in a 3 and a half month period, I'm on my third one. My pool is closed for the winter, so I don't know how well this one will work until next season. Unfortunately by the time I'm going to use it, the warranty will have expired, and they no longer offer extended warranties. If it works for one day or one month, I'll have spent several hundred to have my pool skimmed for a handful of months...... not worth the money (although it looks like they've lowered the price since I've bought it in May). I'd view this as a seasonal purchase and you should plan on buying one every year.

Pool: 35k gallon, free form, pebble, attached spa, multi-level deck, no coverThis thing is great! It keeps the water surface clean and picks up leaves before they have a chance to sink. It does get stuck on the spa wall because the sensors are higher than the wall, but the wind usually blows it and it moves on. The free floating chlorine tab float and the free floating thermometer get stuck in front of it sometimes and make lots of noise beating on the paddle wheel. The screen is easy to clean, but it is already rusting after only a few weeks of use. I would expect the material to be rustproof, but it is not. Also consider that it will not run on cloudy days as it needs sunshine to charge. Definitely was a bummer to watch as the leaves blew into the pool on a cloudy day and Ariel wasn’t running because the charge had been used up the night before. As others have stated, it would be nice if it had a charging port for use on cloudy days or as I expect in the winter when it won’t get enough sun most days.

Worked for roughly 40 days and then had to be replaced. We should have requested a refund, but we stuck with it and arranged to get the old unit back to the manufacturer for a replacement. It simply shut down and would not turn back on. The 2nd unit worked for about 3 months and then the front paddle wheel stopped working. That renders the unit just a "barge" simply pushing stuff out of the way as opposed to picking it up in the screen tray. Tries gentle clearing, etc. with no success. We requested a refund, but were refused citing the "30 day money back window had closed". Our opinion is that this product was designed with good intentions, but it did not endure emough testing or fail safe measures. At >$500 USD, it is a hefty investment. We could have hired a pool service for 5 months and received far better results. We recommend that purchasers think very long and hard before spending this much $$ on a product that has not been fully proven and refined.

I love this skimmer and the company that produces them. I bought it about 3 months ago and have been very happy with it. Especially the built in optical sensors that steer the unit automatically, never get stuck anywhere in the pool. Last week the unit stopped working, I contacted their customer services, exchanged a couple of emails, the rep (Richard) even helped me registered the unit for warranty repair, and within a couple of days, they sent me a brand new unit. Nice product and excellent services.
