Probably the 1,000 IU. You could always increase the dosage when they’re sick if you want. **Q: Does this have “natural mixed tocopherols” in it? And if so, how is it sourced?** A: The natural mixed tocopherols is sourced from soy, however, the soy proteins have been removed and it is considered soy free. **Q: Does the bottle come filled to the top? I’m asking because I received a bottle elsewhere that looks as if 1/4 of the product has been used** A: This is filled as intended. The bottle will NOT be completely filled as it is a 15 ml bottle filled with 10.3 ml of vitamin D3 liquid. Based on my research, I take a large doses of the vitamin, approx. 10 drops of he 4000 unit each. Reason: I live in Southern Maine and we have a winter with not much sun, and spring tends to have many rainy days. This liquid vitamin does not have any aroma, it just creates a large drop on the top of the water, so you just enjoy drinking it.
