I would try to order a gray or white color fabric tape, if possible to blend it with your mattress/boxpsring colors. I have found fabric tape to be pretty sturdy. I've used it on tons of stuff. I've been able to color match well and make lots of fixes. This isn't a huge problem, but small pieces on ripped material don't hold well... in my experience and for best results, I would use at least an inch width of tape on both sides of the tear.
