At any given time, there are about half a dozen Amazon sellers of rebranded versions of this, all from the same factory. I've had two from different sellers (lost one, broke one, about to order another – probably this one, as the current best price with the case included). They're all identical other than the branding on them. The magnification is really around 2x to maybe 3x at most. This is still quite helpful, and I love this thing. It's best as a reader placed directly on a book/magazine/whatever surface. Other magnifiers are better held a different distance. The quality is really good for the money and the item is a lot larger in person and makes reading and illuminating text a lot easier.The on/off switch is on the inside/underside of the magnifier and has to be switched on after removing the battery connection plastic tab. Don’t pull this tab down hard to remove you should open the door and carefully remove it that way. Once the on switch is flicked you just press the magnifier down to turn it on or off whilst looking through the glass. Excellent product from Satechi.Perhaps the power switch and battery compartment could be a little tougher but you’ll only be touching these very briefly when changing the battery so really they don’t make much impact on the overall use. Battery does not make contact unless you put a lot of pressure on the battery case / door.I will look at fixing it properly but I wanted to buy two more for gifts but the quality of the switch and battery compartment lets it down and I don't want to risk giving gifts that don't operate properly. Great size, weight and feel and decent magnification and light. LEDs give a pretty nice and even light, although the LEDs reflect in the glass, but only as very small points so not too distracting. Not worth Β£20 in my opinion unless the switch and battery compartment are better made.
