The flexible silicone material allows. You to comfortably insert three plugs in your ear and mold them to your specific geometry. They are very effective at canceling out and noise, especially if you sleep in an environment where there could be commotion or noise during the evening. I sleep in the same room as my dog, and I find that these earplugs do a good job of canceling out the noise that my dog makes such as scratching or moving around during the night.
