**Q: Where on your car does this go please sorry i have no idea**
A: It plugs in then twist in your 13 pin electrics on car converting it to the old 7 pin to then plug your trailer electrics into (count the number of pins in your tow bar electric hook up and your trailer lead if they are same amount you won't need one of these)

A: I would assume from your description Thule have fitted a standard UK 7-pin plug for the light board (why would they do anything else??), in which case it will fit this. and allow you to convert it to fit a 13-pin Euro plug socket on your car. 
I used to convert the plug on my horse trailer to fit the Euro connector on my new car (came as manufacture-fitted tow bar)and works a treat, easy to fit and easy to stow when not in use.

A: You need a 13-7 pin converter I would say. Best to check with Halfords or where you are getting the trailer from.

A: Your trailer/caravan will have a black lead with a plug on the end with either 13 or 7 contacts. If it is 7 you will need the adapter. The adapter fits into the connector at the back of your car, then the plug fits on what ever you are towing. I tow a caravan with my car and has the set up as I described. Needed as factory-fitted tow bar on new car came, much to my surprise, with a Euro plug not a UK one. Didn’t even know these existed, so breathed a sigh of relief when found. Great bit of kit, easily locks into place and works a treat. Small enough to fit in glove box when not in use so minimises chances of damage or theft.
