Some of the others have a J hook that needs to wrap around the pipe and fitting which can be to tight with limited space. This took has jaws identical to powered pro press tools so you can get it where you need. I had no problems making crimps on copper and stainless PEX caps. I would highly recommend this tool and for a few extra bucks you might as well cover your bases with both options of material. The final presses on copper take some force but be aware that when doing the stainless on PEX you don't need to use the same pressure. Make sure you stop a little before so you don't over crimp a fitting. Otherwise a great tool and easy to use. Common sense and some maneuvering and this is the perfect press tool for occasional use. I usually can get them free by jostling them but sometimes I have to use an arc joint pliers. If you’re working inside a wall put a towel to prevent losing the die! **Q: Will it crimp viega brass fittings?. Know it’s copper crimper** A: Yes this tool does crimp the brass Vega fittings such as ball valves and other fittings made to press onto copper pipe it worked just fine for me no damage **Q: Why is the 1/2" die are too wide for the Viega fittings the hex crimp is not on the fitting? Is there a replacement die?** A: Same thing with mine. The 3/4 worked fine, crimped on both sides of the fitting’s o ring, but with the 1/2 the die’s crimp lands just off the edge of the fitting and I can’t feel comfortable with that.
