They are NOT, so if you're planning to pack some screw drivers or items like that be prepared to have them tear. I purchased these bags to help organize small tools and odds-&-ends in my Jeep trunk space. I used the two small bags for things like ratchet straps and rags, etc. Unfortunately, the large bag cannot fit my jumper cables (too small) and I'm not sure what I will use them for. Like some previous reviewers stated, these are pretty thin bags and my guess is that they can puncture rather easily.
