How to use tip: The ink from UV pens dries leaving a glossy mark which may be noticeable under certain light conditions due to the contrast differences between the ink and substrate being marked - this is easily resolved by dabbing the fresh markings with a tissue to remove excess ink, waiting a few seconds to let it dry a little and then rub it until the mark is no longer distinguishable. Testing with a UV light will reveal the mark. It's recommended to practice the procedure a few times on something you don't intend to security mark first to learn how much pressure to use to gain best results.

A: These pens are designed for permanently marking property, not skin. There are hand stamps with non-permanent UV ink specifically for use on skin available, they are what you should be using for that purpose.

**Q: Can you write on glazed pottery**
A: I have written on an old glazed pot in my shed but it's old and stood in the sun for much of that time so not sure if that is a definitive answer.

**Q: Does this work on all surfaces**
A: Has worked on everything I have marked

**Q: does it work on metallic finish products?**
A: I have tried a marker on paper with a metallic surface, with success. However I have not tried it on something which is left outdoors.
