Not sure if the spacers would have done both at same time. The huge pluses of the kit, were the mallet and block (brilliant for tapping lengths of planking tightly into place ) and the hook tool, for doing the same job in a confined space, where the mallet can't be used. Honestly, this kit was one of the most useful things I have ever purchased, and definitely contributed to making a job done by an amateur, look really professional. **Q: are these okay to use on vinyl floor planks?** A: They are non abrasive and they are a spacing kit to allow you to lay laminate / wood floors . You will find that when laying floors that your room is never a correct measurement so you apply extra spacers as required to keep the floor straight when your putting it down. This isn’t an easy job but it is relatively straight forward. **Q: Do you use 2 spacers together or only one as they fit together?** A: Hi, I only used one! But I was lucky, that I had straight plum walls. Put one and check with your spirit level?... add another where necessary so that the floor is straight once you have done that you will only need one spacer for the remainder of your room! Great for the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Makes installation of laminate easier. *by C***R on 24 October 2021* I only wanted a cheap kit for a single hallway laminate installation and this item seemed to be ideal. For the price paid, I thought it was great, although it's certainly not perfect. The spacers are absolutely fine and there's enough here for most. The hammer was surprisingly smaller than expected, but having said that, it works a lot better than I thought it would. It's certainly handy having a little hammer in tighter spaces! The double ends are essential. The tapping block is perfectly acceptable and does what it is supposed to. The bar however is definitely the weakest item in the kit. The small hammer doesn't have enough weight to use with the bar so I ended up using a standard hammer. Unfortunately, this makes the bar bend, which causes the bar to pull out of the board you are trying to pull. I did manage by hammering the bar straight again every now and then, but it was a little frustrating. Overall, I'm fairly pleased with my purchase and it certainly helped a great deal.
