It creates a lot of suds when I wrap my African sponge around it, and while it does its work, I simply apply it on my body! Not to say other forms of skin cleaning tools, i.e. washcloths, loofahs, etc., would not, I have only used the net sponge.The label tells you not to put the soap directly on your skin, to avoid scratching. I wet my face, put some soap in my palm and rub together with the other palm, rubbing a bit of water, to get a rich lather and remove any rough pieces that remain. Then, I apply the lather to my face and use my hands and a facial scrubber brush.I have experienced the facial "burn" after using the exfoliating brush on the scrubber. I recommend using your hands or a softer brush. Then, follow-up with a moisturizer.I would say it is worth it. My skin loves it, and I have extremely sensitive skin.
