Review: Great quality - Great quality set of strings
Review: Long Life and Great Tone - Had the same set for nearly a year now, incredibly durable strings. Getting another set 'just in case', but overall they keep remarkably good tone well past the point most strings would go completely dead. They're described as 'Blues/Jazz' strings however they're a lot more versatile that, I personally play a mix of Alternative Rock, Punk and Heavy Metal; which they are very well suited for. The wound third is a must for me, the thick rhythm and creamy leads are what I aim for, however if you're not a fan then I'd recommend the regular EXL115 (no W, so to speak). I've used Ernies before and they break way too quickly, I've used Rotos and they lose tone way too quickly, but in general I've found D'addarios to be solid, reliable strings. This set is no exception, I highly recommend them.

**Q: Hi my sons guitar teacher said I should be looking for this make of string for him but should get 8 gauge strings. would these be the right ones?**
A: 8s or 9s will be fine (as someone else said here, most guitars are set up for 9s when manufactured). One thing though, I know it was 3 years ago, but Dizzy Dave Willis is completely wrong. He says that the greater the gauge, the less tension required, but the exact opposite is the case.

**Q: How long are the baritone version of these?
I'm looking at using them on a bass vi and tuning it b-b**
A: Hi to be honest I don't know. However, I did find all strings to have at least 12" (30cm) length more than needed for a standard sized 12 string guitar. Excellent quality and for the price I would "suggest" worth a punt. Cheers now ...

**Q: What size would you guys reccommend for a floyd rose bridge? The mediums seem to have too much tension, but the medium lights are too bright...**
A: 10's are a great standard if you want a little extra stability and power at standard tuning or Eb. If you prefer bends, or have a light touch, 9's are the way to go. And as suggested in a previous post hybrid gauges should provide the best of both!Setup adjustment is usually required when changing string tension on a floyd rose trem, if you find the bridge is lifting, adjust the springs on the rear of the guitar to compensate and retune. A: I play conventional electric and acoustic/electric guitars (including slide playing), but not a lap steel, so I'm not ideally placed to advise. However, I can strongly recommend D'Addario strings as I've used them for many years with total satisfaction, but I'd suggest you do an internet search for advice on stringing i.e., which gauge will suit your son best, then check out D'Addario for a match on Amazon. D'Addario have a range of at least 4 different gauges for pedal steel.

Had the same set for nearly a year now, incredibly durable strings. Getting another set 'just in case', but overall they keep remarkably good tone well past the point most strings would go completely dead. These are the best strings you could want and at a very reasonable price, the quality is first class and cannot be faulted, I have used a verity of strings over the years and have settled on D'Addario which I find to be perfect for me, if you like a nice bright rich tone get these strings you wont be disappointed.
