Never buy Silverline. You will also find that if you buy a good quality strong hose, these fittings won't fit that either, because they are so poorly manufactured, their threads are too loose to be able to tighten up correctly on a thicker hose. I'd steer clear of these and look for something like Hozelock, Draper, Karcher, Spear & Jackson , Gardena, or any other reputable brand. There are some really good Swiss and German ones around as well. All the cheap ones are a gamble, the tolerances which they work with are so wide, unless you can physically test it before buying, don't buy it. **Q: What size hose can fit when clamped, internal and external diameter?** A: The hose I have that I used the connector on is 12.5MM internal diameter. The hose I own is a "Hoselock Ultimate" and the connector fits OK, although the fitting is a little tight, but it does fit with a bit of effort. I am afraid that I don't know the wall thickness of the hose, apart from saying that it looks to be pretty much the same thickness of other hoses that I have. Hope this helps. They are very poorly made and the nut doesn't always hold. They also don't seal 100% or hold solidly. You can get proper hose joiners to do the job. Search for brass hose couplers or menders. I'd avoid Silverline for anything and everything (especially their tools). Only thing to note is that you need to hold the connector when connecting to an appliance for it to connect.
