Thanks** A: The earlier 21.5” iMacs cannot take a VESA mount as far as the Apple website is concerned. Earlier 27” can’t either. The Amer is the only bracket I found after a lot of searching and the website is fairly comprehensive. The issue is the way the stand locks into the back of the screen. Takes some time to remove to original iMac foot and secure this due to the amount of torx screws, but well worth the effort. Hex key and bolts also take a while as there isn’t a lot of room to rotate the key.
