From memory I think there were 18 strips x 5 shingles in a pack but don't hold me to that. I used just under 5 packs to cover a 10x8 shed roof. Each side of the roof was about 10x6 but you need to allow for overlaps and it is a good idea to lay the first course reverse way up (ie the cut out shingles pointing upward) and then overlap a second course on top. This allows you to fold the edge over on the first course to provide a good water tight seal.
