I actually work as an audiologist and work for mysel as well. I have used many different kinds of otoscopes. The 4th generation seems very good. It has a bigger view finder than the cheaper one and a thicker body. The quality does not seem quite so good as the more expensive ones but for me it is perfectly adequate. Previously, I've owned two Heine otoscope/ophthalmoscope sets and a Keeler Vista otoscope/ophthalmoscope set. I liked the Heine sets, but they eventually needed replacing after constant use. The Keeler Vista was fine, but it was quite heavy and you almost needed to take out a mortgage to buy replacement bulbs. I cannot speak highly enough concerning this Dr Mom otoscope. It is lightweight but has a quality feel to it and gives a superb view of the auditory canal and tympanic membrane.
