No it won't, it's Freeview not Freesat - it works off a TV antenna NOT a satelite dish

Q: What’s the best size usb stick for recording from this unit please.

I don’t use a stick I record onto a hard drive recorder.

Q: Can you watch a program and record a program at the same time?

if you are using the set top box as your only form of free view you can only watch the program that is being recorded, but by routing the ariel thro the set top box into a tv with it's own free view. you can record and watch other programs at same time.
