His way of wording some sentences reveals things that other teachers could not express in words. Not only a fantastic painter, but also a fantastic teacher. This book contains tips and tricks by the bucket full. It even contains a few step by steps that help to emphasise his points. As others may have mentioned, the reproduction of some of the paintings aren't great, but this does not distract the reader from the points he is making, and the paintings are still beautiful, even if slightly blurry. In short - Great book with buckets of information for both the beginner and accomplished painter. A must have in my opinion. 5 stars, easily. Even with some of the images being of low quality.

This is definately the best Oil Painting book that I have purchased. David Leffell is a very skilled, and I am so glad that his knowledge is being passed on. His way of wording some sentences reveals things that other teachers could not express in words. Not only a fantastic painter, but also a fantastic teacher. This book contains tips and tricks by the bucket full. It even contains a few step by steps that help to emphasise his points. As others may have mentioned, the reproduction of some of the paintings aren't great, but this does not distract the reader from the points he is making, and the paintings are still beautiful, even if slightly blurry.
