They are 8" long - the perfect size for mixing in a medium sized beaker or short flask. The rods are about 5mm in diameter, solid enough not to break, but not so thick that you will be breaking your lab glass with this thing. I will be buying a few more sets to make it so that I dont have to wash these as often as I would with only three of them. They are inexpensive enough to keep a dozen on hand for different purposes.I don't think that this would be good with very viscous liquids, but your mileage may vary. I like the way that it mixes the vegetable glycerine that I use in my juice - it quickly dissolves the flavoring that I add to my eJuice.
